eHome and eBiz
We are partnering with customers to transform their homes and businesses to use the latest energy technology, reduce energy costs, and be more comfortable.
Imagine your home is warm and comfortable, all year long and your energy costs are optimized with new technology that empowers you and your family. That’s an eHome from Green Mountain Power. We are partnering with customers throughout Vermont to transform their homes and businesses to use the latest energy technology, reduce energy costs, and increase energy efficiency.
This fully customizable program allows our customers to tell us what they want and need to simplify their lives, save money and be more energy efficient.
This exciting program got its start with one special family in Rutland, the Borkowski’s who partnered with us to transform their Baxter Street home making it a model for others in the City and across Vermont.

Green Mountain Power makes it simple – our energy experts visit customers’ homes and businesses to assess their energy needs and determine the products and services they need. We recommend appropriate weatherization, determine if a heat pump or heat pump water heater can lower energy costs in their home, and assess if adding solar will be beneficial. And we offer mobile apps that allow customers to control their lights, thermostats and appliances remotely. Once we have a plan, we coordinate with local contractors to make the retrofit smooth and easy helping you to transition to a more cost-effective, comfortable home or business.

From updated weatherization to upgraded heating and cooling, an eHome is all about saving money while making customers more comfortable.
“The numbers reveal a sudden new truth – that innovative, energy-saving and energy-producing technology is now cheap enough for everyday use.”
Here’s what environmentalist Bill McKibben said about our eHome program in an article for The New Yorker: “I’ve travelled the world writing about and organizing against climate change, but, standing in the Borkowskis’ kitchen and looking at their electric bill, I felt a fairly rare emotion: hope. The numbers reveal a sudden new truth – that innovative, energy-saving and energy-producing technology is now cheap enough for everyday use.”
It’s true, we got our start on this energy revolution with the Borkowski’s and we’ve come a long way since then inspiring others. Today, we have approximately 150 eHomes and 40 eBiz’s
And we don’t plan on slowing down. Learn more about our revolutionary eHome program today and save money, use less energy and be more comfortable all year long.
