Wintry Storm Bringing Snow and Strong Gusts to Vermont Monday Into Tuesday
COLCHESTER, Vt. – Green Mountain Power (GMP) is reminding customers that today’s storm is bringing strong gusty winds along with sleet and snow across Vermont, increasing the possibility for outages due to downed trees and lines. GMP is also urging customers to stay away from any downed lines or trees – and to call GMP.
“We are seeing outages throughout Vermont already, and forecasters expect these gusty conditions to stick around through late afternoon. We are responding as quickly as safely possible for our customers,” said Mike Burke, GMP’s Chief Field Operations Executive.
GMP is also reminding customers that not only are outages possible with strong winds, the winds and slippery road conditions can make travel risky. Historically there can be increased car-pole crashes during the first winter storms like this, so GMP is asking everyone to please drive cautiously.
