GMP is partnering with Vermont communities to help them stay connected when severe weather hits. Our Resiliency Zones provide backup battery power to part of town, and often local renewable power generation, too. That helps keep Vermonters powered up in all types of weather and storms.
Our pioneering microgrid in the heart of Panton provides a replicable model as starting point, and we have customized Resiliency Zone projects underway in Brattleboro, Grafton, and Rochester. We plan to add about three more Resiliency Zones per year. The communities are selected based on outage frequency data along with data from the CDC about community vulnerability.
