Alexa Skill
There are two ways to interact with Alexa. Note – say Green Mountain Power, not GMP.
- Say "Alexa, open Green Mountain Power." When you launch the skill this way, it stays open and you can just ask Alexa for information related to your account. When you’re done with your questions for Alexa, you can respond by saying “cancel,” ask to open a different Alexa skill, or just not respond to Alexa at all and it will close.
- You can open and launch it right into a question. For example: “Alexa, ask Green Mountain Power how much energy I’ve used this month.” Once Alexa answers, it will close.
Yes! But you will have access to more info from Alexa if you have an online GMP account.
Yes! Just tell Alexa to “switch accounts” and you’ll get the info you need from your other accounts.
The Green Mountain Power skill may not actually be open. Make sure it is by saying: “Alexa, open Green Mountain Power,” and then ask your question again.
Text Alerts
Yes, if you have multiple accounts, you can register for text alerts for all your accounts, with no limit. You can also add a nickname to each account (such as HOME, OFFICE, CABIN) to make it easy to know which account the text is about.
Yes.
With the account holder’s permission, you can register for text alerts about their account. Call us at 888-835-4672.
If you have more than one account, giving each account a nickname can make it easier to know which account a text alert is about.
A nickname also enables you to use this shortcut: COMMAND space NICKNAME to quickly access information about that particular account. For example: if you enter STAT ParentsHouse you’ll receive the most current information about the estimated restoration time at that account.
It can take a few minutes to appear in our system after you report it. Please wait a few more minutes and then text STAT again. If you get another message that says there is no outage, please text OUT again.
Please first check the breakers at the property. If power is still not restored, you can either text OUT to 46788 (GMPVT) or call us at (888) 835-4672 to re-report the outage.
No. While the estimated time of restoration (ETR) may have passed, our crews are still working hard to restore your power. Changing conditions in the field and other factors can mean the estimated time will change.
Yes. You can text PAUSE to 46788 (GMPVT).
Text RESUME to 46788 (GMPVT) and you will be prompted for confirmation.
To permanently end alerts, text STOP to 46788 (GMPVT). You will be prompted for confirmation.
