New Electric Vehicle Charging Rates Proposed
GMP wants to make the switch to driving an electric vehicle easier, so we’ve proposed two new rates to help you charge up and save. The Vermont Public Utility Commission (PUC) is reviewing the plans which would allow EV drivers to select an electric vehicle charging rate, or a time of use rate for electric vehicles. Both would give EV drivers the ability to charge up at a cost equivalent to paying about $1.00/gallon of gasoline. The rates also help to reduce costs for all GMP customers.
Our plans build on GMP’s successful EV charging pilot program which closed last year, and had offered charging for $30/month.
The PUC will be holding a public hearing on our new proposed rate tariffs in Montpelier on December 3 at Christ Episcopal Church, located at 64 State Street in Montpelier. A presentation will happen at 6:30 pm, followed by a public hearing at 6:45 pm.
We want to hear from you about these two new electric vehicle charging rates!
