Think Spring with New GMP Rebates to Help You Save
Rebates On Electric Motorcycles and Residential Yard Care Equipment Starting March 1
COLCHESTER, Vt. – Green Mountain Power (GMP) is making it easy for you to save money and reduce your carbon footprint and get excited this spring with a whole lot more rebate options that will get you outside. GMP customers can get ready for the green grass and open roads by saving on electric motorcycles and residential yard care equipment like hedge trimmers, chainsaws, leaf blowers and garden tractors.
“The days are already longer; the sap is running and eventually those giant snow banks will melt. There’s no better time to get ready for spring with new, cleaner equipment than now. GMP is making is easy and fun to reduce carbon emissions and save with new rebates. These offers join our other successful rebate and innovation programs that help reduce costs for all GMP customers, and last year helped offset more than 484 million pounds of lifetime carbon, the equivalent of about 25 million gallons of gasoline ,” said Kristin Carlson, GMP vice president and chief energy services executive.
GMP’s rebate programs have a ‘buy local’ requirement, too – helping Vermont businesses while helping customers save. Wilkins Harley-Davidson in Barre, Vermont plans to offer the $500 electric motorcycle rebate as a discount when customers make their purchase.
“Thanks, GMP – this is great news. Riders all over the world have waited patiently to see America’s most iconic motorcycle brand take a giant step into the future with the all-electric Livewire model. The time is here. While the heart and soul of Harley-Davidson will always be rooted in the classic machines of yesterday, it is great to see Harley reaching for the stars,” said Mark Frano, of Wilkins Harley-Davidson.
The new yard care rebates build on GMP’s electric push mower rebate which has helped hundreds of customers save, and GMP will now offer a $100 rebate on electric garden tractors. Customers can also save $25 each on electric hedge trimmers, chainsaws and leaf blowers. Customers who want to make a bigger impact on their carbon footprint by switching more of their fossil fuel yard equipment to clean electric can save more, too. A Yard Care Bundle offers an extra $50 rebate on top of individual rebates when customers buy three items – leaf blower, chainsaw, trimmer or lawnmower.
“We are working to bring as many new electric options online as quickly and affordably as we can so more customers are able to achieve energy savings and be part of making this a cleaner planet for all,” Carlson added.
