Wind tours are back!
Curious about how wind turbines work? Now you can check them out – up close! GMP is bringing back its popular tours at the Kingdom Community Wind Project in Lowell, Vermont, after suspending plans for public tours due to the pandemic in 2020. For seven straight years prior to the pandemic, hundreds of Vermonters and tourists visited the wind farm and learned more about how wind energy works.
GMP experts guide your tour and answer your questions as you visit two of the site’s 21 turbines. Tours are free and take about 90 minutes. You must register in advance, as space is limited.
On a survey, visitors have told us:
“The informal setting was good for asking whatever question we had.”
“Learned a lot about the wind turbines. Also, a great view!”
“The turbines are impressive and very quiet. I find them very calming to watch.”
