Home Battery
This cutting-edge battery acts as a home backup, storing energy for when you need it. The Powerwall 2.0 provides 8-12 hours of whole-house backup power. You can generate your own energy when you pair your Powerwall 2.0 with solar, or it can store energy directly from the grid itself.
Not only does the Powerwall improve reliability for customers; it can also reduce costs for everyone on peak energy days. GMP is partnering with customers to use the battery’s stored power during peak times to lower costs by reducing transmission and capacity expenses.

Store generated solar energy.
The majority of solar energy is generated during the day, when people are away from the home and energy demand is low. A Powerwall enables you to store clean energy generated during the day so you can use it later.

Store power from the grid.
The Powerwall 2.0 can be used to store power from the grid. During a storm or emergency, the battery is able to power essential parts of the home like lights, a refrigerator, and heat pump (or heating system) for 8-12 hours.

During a power outage, the energy stored in your Tesla Powerwall will power your home. If present, solar panels will continue to recharge the Powerwall.

The Powerwall is kept topped up via the grid and any solar that you may have. Any surplus solar generation is returned to the grid for credit.

Power stored on your Tesla Powerwall is discharged onto the grid. This reduces Vermont’s need for out-of-state power and reduces peak rates, saving money for all.
