Great Rebate Savings for GMP Customers Extended Into 2021

Popular Rebates for Heat Pumps Will Continue, Plus New Savings on More Products in New Year

COLCHESTER, Vt. – Green Mountain Power (GMP) announced today that popular rebates that help customers save money and reduce carbon emissions by switching to electric vehicles, heat pumps and more will continue into 2021. The rebates were set to expire on December 31, 2020. The company also announced that for the first time, GMP will offer new rebates on yard and garden equipment and electric transportation like motorcycles.

“We are so excited to deliver more ways for customers to save money while helping Vermont businesses at the same time. Our rebates empower customers to reduce their own costs as they transition to cleaner energy use while also helping all other GMP customers save money, too,” said Josh Castonguay, Vice President of Innovation at GMP. “Transportation and heating are the two biggest causes of carbon pollution in Vermont, so switching to clean electricity for driving and heating makes a big difference in reaching Vermont’s carbon reduction goals,”

GMP will expand its rebate offerings for the Spring of 2021, with plans to launch in February new discounts on electric motorcycles, electric garden tractors, trimmers and chainsaws. These new rebates will join GMP’s already popular line up of offers on electric vehicles, electric bikes, heat pumps and heat pump water heaters which have provided a steady stream of business for local Vermont companies during the pandemic, as thousands of GMP customers have made the switch to cleaner heating, cooling, transportation and home care in 2020.

Customers Norm and Lorelei Mongeau thanked GMP for their rebate savings in an email, ”We received our rebate checks and are happy GMP is a company looking to the future,” they wrote.
