Process for starting a new project with GMP
The first step for a new project with GMP is to contact a distribution designer at a local service center. Your distribution designer will be your main contact during the planning stages of your project.

This is a letter from us stating we'll be able to turn the lights on in your new spot.
If you are planning new construction or a commercial addition to an existing facility, you will need what is called “An Ability to Serve” letter. This is a statement that we can supply power from our existing (or if necessary, upgraded) infrastructure.

Overall costs can vary based on project specifics and your local distribution designer can provide you with an estimate and walk you through it. Details on pricing are in the Line Extension tariff which is reviewed and approved by the Vermont Public Utility Commission. If your project changes, the estimate will change, too. Temporary Service
Temporary service will be installed in instances where permanent structures will not be available, such as construction trailers, road projects or service for contractors for construction purposes. The service term is six (6) months and there is an evaluation fee of $225.
Typically, a temporary service is limited to 6 months.
